Turn Back Time: Skin Care Tips For Men Over 40
Posted on November 15 2016
As time goes by, our skin becomes significantly drier which results into losing some of its natural elasticity. For men reaching their early 40s, the occurrence of hyperpigmentation, severe dryness, wrinkles, dark under eye circles and other signs of aging are likely to accelerate faster than they used to in comparison to when we were younger. If you don’t do something, your skin will further embrace these tragic damages which will make it look dull and older than it should be. At this very crucial time, it is important to take extra good care of your skin to keep it healthy and younger looking. Follow these skin care tips to minimize the effects of skin aging.
EVERYDAY CLEANSING – Daily skin pollutants like dirty air plays a big role in congesting the skin which makes it a breeding ground for bacteria to grow and multiple. It can cause whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and acne which will cause countless irritation on the skin. Plus the fact that it will leave scars and poch marks which will make the skin look worn out, inflamed and blemished. Make sure you always wash your face with gentle antibacterial cleansers and body wash to get rid of these environmental debris from the skin and prevent the said damages to ruin the skin.
WEAR SUNSCREEN – Staying out of the sun is still the best way to prevent sun damage. While it’s inevitable (and impossible) to avoid sun exposure entirely, you can still reduce the damage that the sun may cause your skin. Make sure you don’t stay too long outdoors between 11am and 3pm wherein intense UV radiation is most damaging which will result in getting wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and even skin cancer. Protect your skin early on by wearing sunscreen with high SPF every single day. If you really need to go out under the sun, wear a cap and sun glasses for additional protection.
MOISTURIZE – It is extremely important to moisturize your skin to keep it healthy and glowing. A deeply moisturized skin basically hydrates and nourishes the skin which results in slowing down the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is best to use a moisturizer that has anti-aging properties like vitamins A, C and E and anti-oxidants so that if you already have wrinkles present, it will help in minimizing their appearance.
EYE SERUM – The eyes shows the most obvious signs of aging in people as young as 20 years old. This is the area where fine lines and wrinkles start to show first which are usually accompanied by dark circles and under eye bags which makes any man or woman look very tired and old. Use eye serums to combat these signs of aging. Eye serums are rich in collagens and anti-oxidants that are proven to diminish those nasty lines and discolorations around the eyes.
DRINK WELL – An average man over 40 should consume 2 litres of water daily to keep the body hydrated and to prevent drying out the skin. It will also cleanse your body from within and will assist in flushing out harmful toxins for you to stay healthy and to make your skin glow.
